Replace a worn or damaged stove seal with our 6mm black stove rope. Its medium-density construction provides an ideal balance of firmness and flexibility. Therefore, it keeps its shape well while helping to create a secure seal around a compatible stove door or stove glass.

Unlike very soft rope, medium-density stove rope has more substance and does not stretch as easily during installation. As a result, you can measure and fit it more accurately into the stove’s rope channel.

Why Choose Medium-Density Stove Rope?

Very soft stove rope can stretch while you fit it. Consequently, you may use too little rope and create an uneven seal. In contrast, medium-density rope provides greater firmness and holds its original shape more effectively.

Stove Rope Adhesive Required

You will normally need a suitable high-temperature adhesive to secure the rope. Therefore, we recommend purchasing our REEDS 50ml Stove Rope Adhesive with your replacement rope.

How to Install 6mm Stove Rope

1. First, make sure the stove is completely cold and out of use.
2. Remove the old rope and scrape away the remaining adhesive.
3. Next, clean the rope channel to remove dust, grease and loose material.
4. Measure the old rope or channel and confirm that 6mm is the correct size.
5. Apply a thin, even bead of specialist stove rope adhesive to the channel.
6. Then, press the new rope firmly into place without stretching it.
7. Cut the rope to length and bring the two ends together neatly.
8. Secure the ends with the supplied heat-resistant tape where required.
9. Finally, allow the adhesive to cure fully before using the stove.
