A Brief History Of Fireplaces
The fire surround was devised during the renaissance in Italy and was inspired by classical Greek and Roman architecture. The surround took the form of a pair of legs on either side of the hearth linked by an entablature. The legs were columns, pilasters, carved figures or simple architectural mouldings. The surface of the chimney breast was also decorated with a wooden or stone over fireplace mantel. Eventually, gas powered fireplaces were introduced and were cheaper and easier to maintain, then as technology progressed, consumers needed fireplaces installed much more quickly and the option to place it anywhere in the home, this was when electric fires were introduced.

Dimplex Electric Suites
We supply the Dimplex Mozart and the Dimplex Chadwick suite, these freestanding suites fit flat to the wall and can be up and running within minutes of plugging them in. The Dimplex Mozart electric fire suite is available in a choice of black gloss or a black and cream finish and has a stone effect surround with a marble effect back panel. This free standing suite comes complete with an integeral Dimplex Optiflame electric fire which has a 2kw fan heater, with a choice of heat settings and a flame effect that can be used independently of heat and features concealed controls. The Dimplex Chadwick suite has a stone effect surround and a dark grey Optiflame log effect fire. As with the Dimplex Mozart electric suite the flame effect can be used independently of the heat, the fan on this fire is slightly lower at 1.2kw. The Optiflame integeral fire is the worlds most popular electric flame effect fire, it is a unique patented means of generating realistic simulated flames from an electric source and creates the illusion of flames eminating from the centre of an enhanced fuel bed.

Delivery Of Your Fireplace Suite
These fireplace suites are very heavy and are delivered by Palletway pallet services. The driver will unload from his lorry and wheel the unit to your front door for you. The driver is not insured to take your fireplace inside your home as it is a 2 man lift, so please make sure that there are 2 able bodied persons to do this on delivery.
