Why Choose An Electric Heating Soultion?

If gas heating is not available or central heating is not an option, such as in rural locations, small houses or flats, you should consider electric heating. Electric heaters are 100% effiecient at the point of use meaning, all electricity used is converted directly into heat unlike boiler systems where energy is wasted through the flue. Electric heaters do not emit fumes or vapors and they require almost no maintenance compared to combustion heating. While some claim that their energy consumption may be too high with rising energy prices, new models feature thermostats will only use the energy needed to get the room to the temperature you desire. Electric heating is very easy to install, ensuring installation costs are kept to a minimum. It does not require pipework, simply a connection to the electrical circuit, so frequently it can be installed in a matter of minutes. Electric heating does not require annual maintenance or safety checks, although it is recommended that all electric wiring be inspected every 5 years.

Electric Heating Running Costs

There is often confusion about the running costs of electric heating compared to other fuels, however the cost of energy for different heating systems is only part of the true running cost equation. The true cost to consider is the lifetime cost of the system, which would not only take into account the fuel used but the hidden maintenance costs, both monetary and time. Due to better system efficiency and higher building insulation levels required to comply with building regulations, the total energy usage will be lower than that for a gas central heating system. However fuel costs will be higher due to higher unit energy prices of electric, but there are lower cost "off peak" tariffs available.

Electric Storage Heaters Or Night Storage Heaters

Storage heaters offer comfortable economical warmth throughout the day by taking advantage of low tariff overnight electricity. Heat retaining clay bricks inside the storage heater are charged over night to store heat and release heat during the day. Convection and radiation give out a comfortable balance of heat in the room, storage heaters use Economy 7 electricity at night, the Economy 7 electric tariff is designed to save money on heating bills. Fan assisted storage heaters are sophisticated at using off peak electricity. Instead of automatically releasing the heat by convection the next day, a fan assisted storage heater incorporates a silent fan, which takes air through the heater and discharges it through the vent at the base of the heater at a time that suits you.

Delivery Of Your Storage Heaters

Our electric storage heaters are very heavy and are delivered by Palletway pallet services. The driver will unload from his lorry and wheel the unit to your front door for you. The driver is not insured to take your electric storage heaters inside your home as it is a 2 man lift, so please make sure that there are 2 able bodied persons to do this on delivery.

Oil Filled Radiators

A mostly silent machine, electric oil filled radiators have an electric plug, but work by increasing the temperature of heat-efficient oil inside the heater. That oil then circulates through radiator coil and fins and generates heat. The whole process works through convection, which allows heat to get transferred through a liquid. Unlike kerosene or other oil heaters, the oil inside of an electric oil radiator warms but never burns, so there is no need to refill it. This reduces risk of fire, eliminates the smell that can permeate the entire house when a fuel burning heater is present, and saves money that would be spent endlessly on heating oil purchases. The rising price of fuel certainly makes one or two of these units worth the investment.

Convector Panel Heaters

In a convection heater, the heating element heats the air next to it by convection. Hot air is less dense than cool air, so it rises due to buoyancy, allowing more cool air to flow in to take its place. This sets up a constant current of hot air that leaves the appliance through vent holes and heats up the surrounding space. They are ideally suited for heating a closed space, as they operate silently and have a lower risk of ignition hazard in the event that they make unintended contact with furnishings compared to radiant electric heaters. This is a good choice if they are on for long periods of time or left unattended, they are very safe heaters as there is a very low chance of getting burned.

Modern Glass Panel Heaters

The Dimplex Girona glass fronted panel heaters are a stylish and modern alternative to traditional style wall mounted panel heaters. The Girona features highly accurate electronic thermostats providing superior comfort and cost effective operating, as the room temperature reaches the desired set point power to the elements is reduced resulting in better energy-efficiency and user comfort. There are optional plug in electric timers and controls for these models. These panel heaters are delivered usually within an estimated time frame of 2 to 3 working days and will be on a mini pallet.

Low Wattage Panel Heaters & Eco Panel Heaters

The Dimplex electric low wattage panel heaters are available in 400 & 800 Watts and the DXLWP400TI model has a 24 hour timer and provide gentle background heating. The Eco-Heat wall panel heaters are designed to be left on for long periods of time, giving you comfortable background heat at a low cost. This is similar in concept to a central heating system, yet far less expensive, ultra slim only 10 mm deep Efficiently warms a room of approximately 12m sq (9m sq in very cold climates).

Halogen Heaters

A halogen heater is a lightweight and portable heating device that can be plugged into an electrical source and provide warmth in an enclosed area. This type of heater is distinguished by the use of halogen elements rather than electrical coils or propane or butane conductors to provide the source of heat. Current models of the halogen heater can be used in several different environments, and are equipped with a number of safety features.

Elnur Dry Radiators

The Elnur range of new generation thermal radiators, dry technology, this range of dry electric radiators have a very accurate temperature control and electricity consumption. Unlike oil filled wall hung radiators these Elnur dry radiators do not use any oil for heat transmission, it features a primary heat transmitter which means the energy is taken by a secondary element that transfers heat, amplifying the surface that radiates the heat.

Dimplex Electric Towel Rails

Our towel rails have a compact wall mounted slimline design and some feature a unique Dry-Tech technology which provides a faster warm up than conventional towel rails, they are also entirely liquid free therefore there is no leakage or rust. This range provides more heat from a lower output, are more energy efficient and have even heat distibution so consequently no cold spots.

Dimplex Electric Low Profile Heaters

The Dimplex low profile EVS range has a unique "silent" finned element design, these electric panel heaters can be used in a domestic and commercial enviroment. They have an accurate electronic thermostat accurate to + or - 0.1 degrees to maintain a very stable room temperature with an added bonus of a holiday setting.

Dimplex General Purpose Heaters

Dimplex general purpose heaters are splashproof, compact and durable, and are ideal for use where a low level of localised heat or frost protection is required, for example in greenhouses, sheds, conservatories and airing cupboards. This collection also features infra red heaters and skirting heaters.

Dimplex Portable Heaters

A large range of porable heaters in varying options such as panel heaters, oil filled radiators and fan heaters. The benefits of portable heating are that it is extremely flexible and energy saving, why heat a whole property if you only need to heat a single room? They are both safe and relaible, no fumes to worry about as with gas bottled heaters. Also these heaters can be easily moved from room to room or put away when not required which makes them perfect for applications such as conservatories where the heat is only needed over the winter months.

Delivery Of Your New Heater

The delivery times and cost vary on the type of electric heater you choose, however we usually aim to deliver within an estimated time of 2 -3 working days, if for any reason we are out of stock we will contact you to advise. Please note the storage heaters are very heavy and are on a mini pallet therefore delivery costs incurred are higher.
