It is designed to fit as an inset.

You simply plug in and go, creating a warm and cosy atmosphere in your home. Opti-myst flame and smoke effect electric fire with fully variable flame and smoke intensity control -Silent operation -180 degrees flame and smoke viewing angle, Dichroic Xenon bulbs with extended life, 1.3 litre easy refill water tank -Optiglo glowing logs with shimmering ash bed, 1 and 2kW heat selection from concealed fan heater, Opti-mystTM effect can be used independently of heat, Thermostat -Remote control -Virtually maintenance-free.

The water tank is best filled with filtered water, and one fill of the tank can last up to 25 hours use, so dont worry about thinking you will have to keep getting up to fill every 5 minutes as you wont have too. Warning, if you use tap water that is not filteres you will run the risk of scale build up!. We use a brita jug that we have in the kitchen.

Really Pleased

After finding this fire in a local showroom only to find out the price they were charging,
we went online found snh, ordered the fire from them,masive saving,phoned when fire was arriving( only £19.99) delivery, great service so happy with my new fire looks great, and the flame effect is really cool.

Opti-Myst Brookline BKL20

Even with a sizeable discount this model seems to be overpriced judging by the build quality, but once you switch it on and see the amazingly realistic flame effect you realise this is where the value lies. I have seen nothing which even comes close for the flame effect. It would fool most people into thinking they were looking at real flames.
One word of caution, it is essential to completely block off the flue if used in a fireplace, because the slightest updraught diminishes the flame effect.

dimplex optimyst

i ordered the dimplex optimyst online, and the delivery was somewhat messed up. when it did arrive though, i was very pleased with itg, though i do feel it is overpriced, and i am having difficulty finding a surround for it.
